These dioramas by Ernst Beyrich were first introduced back in 1906, and they’re actually some of the oldest in the world. I grew up in Darmstadt and remember visiting them on a school trip when I was a kid - I absolutely loved them!
But I haven’t been back since I moved away from Germany over 20 years ago. There are ten massive dioramas showing landscapes and wildlife from different continents. Seeing those as a six-year-old was pure magic, and honestly, even though they look a bit dated now, they still hold up.
