The Museum temple of the sun painter Ortega Maila was constructed by the indigenous painter and sculptor Ortega Maila.

He researched al the designs and ancestral architecture to maintain the culture.

Just outside of Quito you will find this beautiful place to visit. Near the Middle of the World Museum it is easy to combine this place in a day trip.

This Temple of the sun will captivate you with its beauty, sculpture, architecture and the paintings on the walls. With a nice view near the volcano.

We took a one our tour within the Temple to get to know more about the history of the Incas.
Like you will see on the Pictures there is a Sun clock, a relaxing room and Art all over the place.

Right next to the temple is the inactive volcano. Its crater is now green and populated and you can now take a horse ride to explore the area. We didn't have time to do that since we also went to the Middle of the World Museum.

So like I said I can highly recommend you to visit Ecuador! Quito or another cultural city is not that important. The country itself with its nature, volcanos, mountains and delicious food, has a lot to offer and don’t forget about all the beautiful beaches to surf.

I will keep you posted! With best regards David, traveling South America!
