In the province of San Luis is the town of Potrero de los Funes, around the lake of the reservoir with the same name.
Don Juan Esteban Funes, who, at the dawn of the 19th century, settled with his wife in that territory (where they would see ten children born) founded the place.
At the beginning, the area would be known under the name of Potrero Grande and would occupy part of what is now Estancia Grande, Las Chacras and Potrero. There Don Funes would establish his house, which would function at the same time as a service school, a home and a supply farm for the entire neighborhood. It would be this foundational and supportive attitude that would deserve the honor of the pioneer family that the town changed its name to Potrero de los Funes.
En la provincia de San Luis se encuentra la localidad de Potrero de los Funes, alrededor del lago del embalse con el mismo nombre. Don Juan Esteban Funes quien, en los albores del Siglo XIX, se estableció junto a su esposa en aquel territorio (donde verían nacer diez hijos) fundó el lugar.
El principio la zona se conocería bajo el nombre de Potrero Grande y ocuparía parte de lo que hoy es Estancia Grande, Las Chacras y Potrero. Allí Don Funes establecería su casa, la que funcionaría a la vez como escuela de servicios, hogar y chacra de abastecimiento para toda la vecindad. Sería esta actitud fundacional y solidaria la que le merecería a la familia precursora el honor de que la villa cambiara su nombre por el de Potrero de los Funes.
Around the beautiful lake, where you can carry out nautical and fishing activities, there is a road tourism circuit in which important competitions have been held and on everyday days it functions as the main avenue.
Alrededor del hermoso lago, en el que se puede realizar actividades náuticas y de pesca, hay un circuito de turismo carretera en que se han realizado importantes competencias y en los días cotidianos funciona como avenida principal.

There is a lot to go around in the surroundings, but one that I really enjoyed was El Salto de la Moneda. It begins with an ascent on a very well defined path despite being totally natural until you reach a waterfall that forms natural pots. Really beautiful! Important: bring protector, hat and water !!
Hay mucho para recorrer en los alrededores, pero uno que disfruté mucho fue El Salto de la Moneda. Se comienza con un ascenso sobre un sendero muy bien delimitado a pesar de ser totalmente natural hasta llegas a una caída de agua que forma ollas naturales. Realmente hermoso! importante: llevar protector, gorra y agua!!
The area is surrounded by rivers and those with little flow of water are used to spend a pleasant day in nature.
