Hello on this 2nd day of 2020!! I didn't disappear off the face of the earth but I was definitely blown away by the South Easter yesterday... 😂

I was barely able to stand still with the wind that was so strong

One of our family's favorite things to do is to take a drive around the Cape Peninsula and enjoy a picnic on Chapman's Peak drive. That is just what we did yesterday to ring in the new year! I can only say that we were NOT prepared for the intensity of the Cape Doctor.

Simon's Town

😂 We had our early morning sarmies in the car overlooking Simon's Town as it was too windy to sit outside.

The clouds in the distance is an indication of the wind

Encountered some hectic traffic snarls close to the Cape Point entrance so did a u-turn and traveled via Scarborough and Misty Cliffs.

Bribed the kids into a selfie

Saw a baboon or 2

Misty Cliffs

Such awesome seascapes it warms my heart. I feel at home here. The waves crashing on the rocks with the foam white on the crests.

On a section of our route we encountered these guys selling African art sculptures. I just love them they are so beautiful.

We ended up having our picnic at a more secluded little place with a magnificent view of Houtbay in the foreground. Still windy but oh so hot in the sun. It was lovely though and just what my soul needed.

We ended off coming home over Kloofnek overlooking Camp's Bay and after I dropped everyone off I was ready for an early night in. 😊

I hope you've all had an amazing 1st day of 2020. For me it was important to spend the time with my children.

Here's wishing you a beautiful 2nd of January! Have a great day! ❤️
