In November this year I had a short stay in Almuñécar, Spain. Besides visiting family, I had a chance to wander around this rather small town only an hours drive from Malaga. I found a couple of street art and beautiful mosaics. I have already done a post with stunning mosaics on benches. But there are much more in town.
The mosaic above was found in the city center. It was by accident that I found it. Both this town and many more of the towns along the coast, are famous because of the mosaics and pottery. I think there are many more than was I saw.
A short drive north of Almuñécar, there is a small town called Jete. It's located in the moutains, surrounded by mountains and lot of fields with avocado and oranges. Close to the main road we found these paintings along stairs going down into town. My brother, who once lived in Jete, showed the paintings to me. He also told me that the artists are young inhabitants of Jete.
Mosaics that shows the small town of Jete, which is also known for it's wine. In the middle of town you will find Calventes winery, which makes great wines. We can buy one of them here in Norway. The mosaic is found on the road leading to Calventes winery.
