We still have winter and that's the time for cookies and christmasstollen. It is also the time when people like to buy something new to wear, because after Christmas it is usually cheaper. So what could be more obvious than combining the two.
Today I show you the Café Krönner in a fashion house. You have read correctly... in a fashion house.
It is an unusual place for a café, but it is always well attended. The fashion house has been around for 120 years, and a few years ago the Café Krönner opened on the third floor.
Mostly the men are brought here by their wives, so that they can shop in peace and without the nagging of their husbands. After all, there are 4 floors with 5,000 square meters with the latest fashionable clothes, shoes and accessories.
I'm sure the men agree, there is nothing more boring than entering a clothing store with your wife. The café was a brilliant idea, because here the husbands like to wait for their wives: a hot coffee, sweet cake and a magazine to read, what more could you want.
Of course, the wives are also happy when they can relax exhausted after shopping in this little oasis. After all, shopping makes them thirsty and hungry. It is also a popular meeting place at lunchtime, as there are also small and large snacks.
The headquarters of Café Krönner is in Murnau, 20 km away, where it operates a traditional coffee house with a pastry shop and chocolate factory. Of course, this small café also offers cakes, tarts, breads, chocolates and truffles produced in Murnau itself. Not in this variety, but there is something for everyone.
As a little dessert for the afternoon I have chosen a piece of christmasstollen for today. It is winter and such a cake spiced with Christmas aromas is just right. After all, the season will soon be over and then this kind of cake won't be available again for several months.
As you can see in the picture, it was refined with many raisins, you can even see the almond pieces.
Really an excellent pleasure of these Krönner christmasstollen. The coffee also tastes very good, because the beans also come from a coffee roastery in Murnau.
In summer you can sit on the terrace and enjoy the sun. I could wait there for hours for my wife.
