If you have travelled Europe before I am sure you will be aware that there ALOT of castles, manors, temples, cathedrals and churches. After a while they start to blend together and lose their special touch. Luckily in Ireland and Northern Ireland the architecture is unique to alot of Europe - Mussenden Temple is a perfect example of this.

We often try to do things on the cheap, and this was no different - learning that after 6pm there was no fee to enter, we parked nearby and went for it. There were others doing the same thing. The area is actually quite large, and as can be seen above also quite green. The ruins above are massive and impressive! There is a bit of a jump to get across (as seen in the picture), but shouldnt be a problem for most people...

Its possible to walk right through, and gives a feeling for how huge this place would have been, and how many people would have been living here. It is actually in very good condition considering how old it must be!

Around this area is masses of green open spaces, and I can imagine that the people who once lived here would have been very wealthy. It is great to just wander and take in how impressive the whole area is.

After seeing the impressive ruins we continued along towards the coast we come to the magnificent Mussenden temple. This place is incredible, as it is a temple built into the rocks right on the edge of a massive cliff towards the sea. We werent able to go inside, but it was a fairly small place, and made for some amazing photos from the outside - I dont think we missed out on much...

The Coastline of Ireland and Northern Ireland were truly amazing to visit, and having a unique temple right their on the side added to the mystical feel of this place.

There are many, many cool places along the coast to visit, and checking out Demesne temple would be a good place to stop if you find yourself doing a tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
