Taking the coach from Shaoguan in north Canton to Humen in the south you can see the very attractive landscape of Canton. I don't really understand why there is not more tourism in that region. Chinese don't really seem to care for landscape, unless it's something very spectacular or something where a lot of other people go to.
Wenn man den Bus von Shaoguan in Nordkanton nach Humen im Süden nimmt, hat man die Chance, die attraktive Landschaft Kantons zu bewundern. Verstehe nicht wirklich, warum es nicht mehr Tourismus in der Region gibt. Chinesen scheinen nicht wirklich landschaftlich interessiert zu sein, es sei denn, es ist sehr spektakulär oder traditionell vielbesucht.
The region around Shaoguan is quite hilly, with some mountainous outcrops. On the day I took the pictures there were low clouds & fog, though less & less so the further south I came.
Die Region um Shaoguan is ziemlich hügelig mit einigen richtiggehenden Bergen. Am Tag, als ich die Bilder machte, gab es leider tiefhängende Wolken & Nebel, allerdings immer weniger davon, je weiter ich nach Süden kam.
All pictures were taken with a compact camera from inside the coach I was traveling in. Hence the quality is lacking, but still good enough, I think. Anyway, it gives a quite good impression of the landscape.
Alle Fotos wurden mit einer Kompaktkamera vom Bus aus aufgenommen. Dementsprechend ist die Qualität nicht gerade toll, aber doch gut genug, denke ich. Es gibt so oder so einen guten Eindruck von der Landschaft.
The village on the pic above is not very typical. Gable roofs are not that common in Canton. At least in the countryside you find this kind of roof mostly on pigsties & stables.
Das Dorf auf dem obigen Bild ist nicht sehr typisch. Satteldächer sind in Kanton eher ungewöhnlich. Zumindest auf dem Land findet man solche Dächer hauptsächlich auf Ställen.
Canton is densely populated & almost every bit of ground has been touched by humans. Yet there is a lot of wildlife (part of which you can see when you visit an animal market. Perhaps the many hillsides, which make agriculture difficult, offer some refuge.
Kanton ist dichtbesiedelt & fast jedes Stück Land wurde schonmal von Menschen berührt. Trotzdem gibt es eine Menge Wildtiere (von denen man einige bewundern kann, wenn man einen Tiermarkt besucht.
Also interesting that agriculture in Canton is dominated by small fields. In North China the fields are much larger. You also find a lot of fish ponds in the south.
Auch interessant, daß die Landwirtschaft in Kanton eher kleinteilig ist. In Nordchina gibt es wesentlich größere Felder. Im Süden findet man aber auch sehr viele Fischteiche.
Above you see the typical rural residential buildings with flat roofs. The yellow-bricked buildings are usually stables or pigsties.
Oben sieht man die für Kanton typischen Häuser mit Flachdächern. Die Gebäude aus gelblichen Ziegelsteinen sind normalerweise Ställe.
The further south you go, the less frequent the hills become & the more water you see. The last image below shows the outskirts of Humen which is part of Dongguan. As you can see, it's dominated by the typical flat-roofed buildings.
Je weiter man nach Süden kommt, desto weniger hügelig ist es & desto mehr Wasser sieht man. Das letzte Bild unten zeigt das Weichbild Humens, welches zu Dongguan gehört. Wie man sieht, dominieren die typischen Gebäude mit Flachdach.
