Hello fellow Hiveans!

A few days ago I headed to the river Thames to capture the last ocean going paddle steamer in the world. It was a very early start but after the storms of late, feeling the warmth from the sun on the back of my legs again was amazing.

The Waverley tours many seaside towns and cities in the UK each year over the summer. Like cruises, passengers have time to explore each place in their own time for a few hours or overnight in some cases, before sailing to the next destination.

he returned to London over the following couple of nights, using the city as a resting point whilst visiting South End on Sea and Ipswich to the north.

The company operating the tours uploads the schedule on their website so it is nice and easy to pick and choose which location to capture her. This was such a fun shoot and I learned a lot. Next year, I plan to capture her near the Jurassic Coast and the white cliffs!

On this particular occasion, there was also a replica of a Spanish 17th century ship named El Galeon Andalucía visiting the UK which was docked in London at the same time the Waverley visited.
Seen below just right of centre, this dock is located right next to Tower Bridge and was where she stayed for a couple of weeks before heading out again.

Until the next time!
