After finding the slightly underwhelming Hanging Rock in Nowra, we started off on the walk that we originally came to do... a short 60 minute walk that was designated as an easy walk... and with out two kids, that was always going to be the way.... although, my little one was more keen on the possibility of scrambling around!
So, as we descended down the initial steep path, we needed to be a bit careful not to slide down completely on our arses as it had rained quite heavily the evening before!
Hmmm.... I guess this is always going to happen when you have nature walks near people in a relatively largish population centre.
Lots of interesting rock formations, probably a lot that had fallen from above... like that hanging rock will eventually do!
... and although it was still overcast, you could see that it was a pretty nice view of the river just beyond the e trees.
Ah yes... lots and lots of signs, we are in Australia after all!
... and suddenly, the path got a good deal less easy! This was when my wife started thinking that we had missed the track, and gotten off into the bush... remember, this was supposed to be a really easy walk after all! Personally, my little one and I were likely clambering around... however, my wife and the older girl were starting to not enjoy it!
Okay... I'm pretty sure that we are in the wrong place now...
So, we backtracked to the last known good spot... which was this gap that we were supposed to walk through instead of passing by!
A perfect spot for a fairy grotto!
Yep, this is the right spot... a nice easy and wide track with stairs!
... and there is that hanging rock from the underside! It definitely looks a bit more interesting from down here!
As we are soon reaching the photo limit, we'll start part two from this little landmark!
