Today we will speak of a European country with less than 3 million inhabitants. Its history began in the year 1080, and its independence was achieved recently in 1991, being a young European country.

Sometime, Albania was avoided due to uncertainty and political turbulence. Today, transport can be a problem, because it is not very good with the rail system, but we think it is not a major impediment. Albania is worth visiting for interesting architecture, but also for local cuisine.

Berat. Located in southern Albania, Berat is the place where you can see the Ottoman architecture, especially in the houses that lie on the hills of the area. Here you can also see the Kalaja Castle and the churches and mosques. The buildings on the hills of this city are well-known for the large windows overlooking the city.

Albanian Riviera, southwest of the country, a less crowded and more accessible alternative to Greece, Italy, Croatia and Montenegro.

Gijrokastra is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and Gjirokastra Castle is said to be the largest castle in all of Albania. It is worth visiting the Army Museum inside the fortress to find out about the combat tools used during the Second World War and the Antigone archaeological site.

Durres, the second largest city in Albania. The Durres Castle and the great amphitheater are worth seeing, Aleksander Moisiu Theater hosts all sorts of cultural events.

Kruja is renowned for its bazaars with local antiques and crafts such as baskets, shoes and fabrics.So do not hesitate to visit this small, but very beautiful country.
