Hello! I'm happy for my first publication in this community. I have been getting to know your mission and vision, as well as who is behind these materials for the tourist, and I think it is excellent. That's why I would like to make my small contribution, and even more when I see that there is still no pin in this place on the map: Pui Puy Beach, Venezuela. All the images are mine.

¡Hola! Estoy feliz por mi primera publicación en ésta comunidad. He ido conociendo su misión y visión, también a quiénes están detrás de éstos materiales para el turista, y me parece excelente. Por eso quisiera hacer mis pequeños aportes, y más al ver que aún no hay un pin en éste lugar en el mapa: playa pui puy, Venezuela. Todas las imágenes son mías.

It is located in the peninsula of paria, Sucre state, Venezuela. Our trip was done in a van, with the purpose of camping in this beach in the open sea. We took three tents for six people and a dog.

Está ubicada en la península de paria, estado Sucre, Venezuela. Nuestro viaje lo hicimos en una camioneta, con la finalidad de acampar en ésta playa a mar abierto. Llevamos tres carpas para seis personas y un perro.

We arrived almost at noon. This beach has strong waves and a constant breeze. That day there were clear warnings that there was a hangover, that is, that the sea does something similar to a whirlpool and the effect is that it can quickly drag objects and people that are close to it out to sea. These signs had to be respected. As much as we wanted to enjoy the sea, it was better not to challenge its strength. So we could quietly set up the small camp and set up the tents.

Llegamos casi a mediodía. Ésta playa tiene fuerte oleaje y brisa constante. Ése día había claras advertencias de que había resaca, es decir, que el mar hace algo parecido a un remolino y el efecto es que puede arrastrar rápidamente a mar adentro objetos y personas que estén cerca. Había que respetar éstas señales. Por muchos deseos de disfrutar el mar, era mejor no desafiar su fuerza. Así que pudimos dedicarnos con tranquilidad a instalar el pequeño campamento y armar las carpas.

We met the person who was in charge of the community at that time to take care of and clean the beach. It is always good to have the support and supervision of the people in the area. It was nice to see the kindness and cordiality with which we were treated. We were able to count on their support and help in some aspects to feel comfortable. The beach has many palm trees lined up. We set up the tents among them, taking advantage of the natural protection it would provide against the elements, making our stay more pleasant. The camp was located in the middle of the beach.

Conocimos a quien en ésa oportunidad era el encargado por la comunidad para cuidar y limpiar la playa. Siempre es bueno contar con el apoyo y la supervisión de las personas de la zona. Fue agradable ver la amabilidad y cordialidad con que se nos trataba. Pudimos contar con su apoyo y ayuda en algunos aspectos para sentirnos cómodos. La playa tiene muchas palmeras en fila. Armamos las carpas entre ellas, aprovechando la protección natural que brindaría contra los elementos, haciendo más agradable la estadía. El campamento quedó ubicado en el medio de la playa.

In the afternoon, we approached one of the inns of the place. Simple, comfortable and picturesque. Great for those not as adventurous as spending the night in a tent like us. As it is located on the eastern side of the beach, you can see the entire beach from there. Just before the beach there is a small outlet of a local river which can be easily crossed on foot. There is also some commercial activity there, but we will talk about that later. The visit served to let us know and to notify that we would be spending the night there. These temporary neighbors were also very kind.

Ya en la tarde nos acercamos a una de las posadas del lugar. Sencilla, cómoda y pintoresca. Genial para aquellos no tan aventureros como pasar la noche en carpa como nosotros. Como está ubicada en el lado oriental de la playa, se puede ver desde allí la playa en su totalidad. Justo antes de llegar a ella hay un pequeño desemboque de un río local el cual se atraviesa sin problemas a pie. Allí también hay algo de actividad comercial, pero de eso hablaremos más adelante. La visita sirvió para darnos a conocer y notificar que estaríamos pernoctando en el lugar. Estos vecinos provisionales también fueron muy amables.

At the end of the afternoon we were able to swim in the sea, with some caution. Finally! This was one of our main objectives. Without a doubt, it is not a quiet beach, but you enjoy the activity in the water. That helps to appreciate the variety of beaches you know.

Ya al caer la tarde pudimos bañarnos en el mar, con algo de precaución. ¡Por fin! Este era uno de nuestros principales objetivos. Sin duda, no es una playa tranquila, pero disfrutas la actividad en el agua. Eso ayuda a apreciar la variedad de playas que uno conoce.

Then, the second objective: to spend the night in tents. Of course, before that we could enjoy lively conversations between the six companions by the light of a small fire. Laughs, photos, anecdotes and pirouettes from Cody, our dog companion.

Luego, el segundo objetivo: pasar la noche en carpas. Por supuesto, antes pudimos disfrutar de animadas conversaciones entre los seis compañeros a la luz de una pequeña fogata. Risas, fotos, anécdotas y piruetas de Cody, nuestro compañero perruno.

Logically, the light of a new day appears very early in these areas. This first image of the next day corresponds to 5:52 a.m. In it you can notice over the sea what they call Sea Mist. It is like a vapor or small drops suspended in the air.

Lógicamente, la luz de un nuevo día aparece muy temprano en éstas zonas. Éste primera imagen del siguiente día corresponde a las 5:52 a.m. En ella se puede notar sobre el mar lo que llaman Bruma del mar. Es como un vapor o pequeñas gotitas suspendidas en el aire.

Here you can see the trail of a good-sized turtle that came out of the water at night to lay its eggs. You can easily see the trail back and forth a few meters away. This beach is known for this fact. That's why it is protected as a habitat for these innocent and harmless animals. I have only seen this once. It makes me aware that we are still surrounded by so much life and energy that cannot be seen with the naked eye. That motivates us to take care of everything around us in a special way.

Aquí se ve el rastro de una tortuga de buen tamaño que en la noche salió del agua a poner sus huevos. Se nota fácilmente el rastro de ida y vuelta con unos metros de diferencia. Esta playa es conocida por éste hecho. Por eso se protege como hábitat de éstos animales inocentes e inofensivos. Solo he visto esto una vez. Me hace consciente de que seguimos rodeados de mucha vida y energía que no se ve a simple vista. Eso motiva a cuidar todo lo que nos rodea de forma especial.

We go near the above-mentioned inn to have breakfast in a private house that sells empanadas. However, before that we met some fishermen who had just arrived from the sea. Nos dirigimos cerca de la posada antes mencionada a desayunar en una casa particular que vende empanadas. Sin embargo, antes encontramos a unos pescadores que recién llegaban del mar. En éstas imágenes se puede notar parte de lo que pudieron pescar en ésa oportunidad: Mojarra, Corocoro y Curvinata.👇 Pero también los lugareños logran pescar allí Cabaña y Tajalí

On the beach you should not ask for meat, chicken, ham and cheese empanadas... No! Here it must be skate, dogfish, fish... Of course it is!

En la playa no deberías pedir empanadas de carne, pollo, jamon y queso... ¡No! Aquí debe ser raya, cazón, pescado... ¡Claro que sí!

The locals live from trade. Either by fishing and selling it in nearby towns, like Rio Caribe, or Carúpano. Also, as in this case, offering prepared food to visitors. It is interesting that the cocoa is cultivated at a short distance from the beach. It has a reputation for being of good quality. That's why there are small chocolate sales in private homes in the community.

Los lugareños viven del comercio. Bien sea pescando y vendiéndolo en poblaciones cercanas, como Rio Caribe, o Carúpano. También, como en éste caso, ofreciendo alimentos preparados a los visitantes. Es interesante que se cultive el cacao a poca distancia de la playa. Tiene fama de ser de buena calidad. Por eso hay pequeñas ventas de chocolate en casas particulares de la comunidad.

On the western side of the island there is another posada that consists of huts built in order between the palm trees, making good use of the space. Ideal for large groups. In front of them there is enough space for socializing, sports activities or simply sunbathing. It has grass that those who do not like the feeling of sand on their feet will be very grateful.

En el lado occidental de la isla se encuentran otra posada que consta de cabañas construidas en orden entre las palmeras, aprovechando bien el espacio. Ideal para grupos grandes. Frente a ellas se dispone de suficiente espacio ideal para socializar, actividad deportiva o sencillamente broncearse. Tiene grama que agradecerán mucho quienes no les gusta la sensación de la arena en los pies.

This is Pui Puy Beach. An open sea beach, with natural shade, space for camping, comfortable inns, basic commerce, away from the hustle and bustle. It is worth to know it.

Esta es la Playa Pui Puy. Playa a mar abierto, con sombra natural, espacio para acampar, posadas cómodas, comercio básico, apartada de bullicios. Vale la pena conocerla.
